Awwww~how precious! Needing a name? First thing I thought of: Iggy! Of course, when I got Patch-he had two names before he was named Patch-lol. But Patch is the most fitting since he has/had a black spot/patch on one eye.
WOOF!

She is adorable! So, so cute! I love how she’s only brown on her head.
How about Peanut? Or Caramel? She reminds me of a toasted marshmallow. (Oh wow, I must be hungrier than I realized!
)
Zipper? Gidget? Lucy? Applejack?
Angel is cute, too. She is a really darling puppy.

Aaaaaahhh! I just want to squooze her! Love it! Drawing a blank on names though.
March 30, 2008 at 7:16 pm
Isn’t she though? I don’t get to bring her home for two more weeks…but I will have turned in my dissertation…so she’s my graduation present, I guess.
I love those name ideas! They are cute! I’ll let you know what the final verdict is…

Adorable!
You could call her Unbee. It would be hard to yell at yourself!
March 30, 2008 at 7:55 pm
Maybe some neato-sounding Italian word that means cute or something?
carino- cute… piccolo– means little or young…
March 31, 2008 at 12:04 am
I love piccolo that is so cute. How about Twizz? She is so cute and adorable. If I were her though I wouldn’t be going after the kitty. I’m think that cat could make lunch meat out of her. When will doggis’ ever learn?
March 31, 2008 at 2:08 am
I like piccolo-but I think of the commercial of Ricola-lol! Twizz is cool too! I’m still into Iggy-or Ziggy-or Izzy…am I just into the y part? ROFL!
March 31, 2008 at 2:09 am
pppj~LOL!

“If I were her though I wouldn’t be going after the kitty. I’m think that cat could make lunch meat out of her. When will doggis’ ever learn?”
maybe some Italian word that means “too big for her britches” lol
I am liking the Iggy thing too!
March 31, 2008 at 7:03 am
Silly puppy, thinking he can get one over on the cat… LOL!
He is absolutely adorable! And BTW, what does IG stand for?
Mere, you HAD to say Ziggy; thanks! Now all day, the sound track in the back of my head is going to be playing David Bowie tunes.
“Ziggy played guitar…”

*waving to curious* I think it is Italian Greyhound, which is why I suggested the Italian names.
They stay kinda small, right? She looks so sweet. can she come over and play with my boys?
March 31, 2008 at 9:22 am
IG and Italian Greyhound is what made me think of Iggy first thing!
March 31, 2008 at 2:24 pm
What an absolutely adorably puppy!!!! I’m drawing a blank on names, though.
March 31, 2008 at 5:06 pm
I like Twizz, that’s such a fun name. Piccolo is really cute too.. though I see the Ricola connection..lol.
Yep, IG is short for Italian Greyhound. They’ve actually been around for thousands of years and are genetically identical to greyhounds but are just a lot smaller.
This lil girl comes from a show home, but they are worried she will be too small to show, so they want to find her a good home where showing isn’t super important (I’m not into dog shows so much, but I do love agility and if I get started on that I’ll post lots of pics!)
She should be ~12-14 inches at full height and 10 lbs or so. A great size…not teeny tiny and super-delicate, but small enough to pick up and haul around. I’m excited!

You could name her Twizzler and call her Twizz…or a two namer that has the IG initials and call her Iggy? Patch’s name is just Patch. I had a black lab and her name was Coaldust Chloe. We called her Chloe. Coaldust comes from 101 Dalmatians where the doggies go through the coal dust and turn black-hehe!

hmm…I think the puppy will chew some of the wood on that pretty table. Just a guess.
I like Twizzler…I like to eat Twizzlers though so it wouldn’t work for a name for my dog.
Good luck with the naming process

What a cutie you got there!! Good luck!!!! HUGS!

*waving back to Goldie*
*waving to everyone else!*
OK, this may be a silly name for a dog but he looks like a Cannoli to me…chock full of sweet puppy goodness!
Missy the Cat says she’d love to be friends with the little doggis. She likes that little sparkle of mischief in his eyes…
I can see it now, the Kittyanapolis 500, being run at 3 am between a greyhound puppy and a seriously geriatric cat! LOL!!!
April 2, 2008 at 11:09 am
Curious You crack me up! Kittyanapolis ROF. My friend has a fullsized greyhound and she is such a mild sedate doggis. When she is not running she is a couch potatoe and all she wants to do is sleep.
April 2, 2008 at 11:37 am
How about “Chaser of Cats”?
Killer?
I dunno….I am terrible at naming pets.
But the puppy is sooooooooo cute!
April 2, 2008 at 12:28 pm
Cannoli! Aaaaahh! I LOVE IT!!!! I like Twizzler/Twizz a lot, Iggy, and of course Piccolo, but I LOVE Cannoli! Good one curious!
April 2, 2008 at 5:44 pm
Hi HH!
The saga of the Kittyanapolis 500 was born a number of years back when Missy the Cat was in training for sports other than power napping - her current favorite!
On chorus rehearsal nights (AKA Mondays), I don’t get home until 12:30 am at the earliest; Baltimore’s a bit of a haul from where I live. And since DH is a very light sleeper, on chorus nights I camp out on the living room couch.
Well, I usually can’t get to sleep until about 2 am and JUST about the point that I’d be really getting into a sleep state, WHAM! WHAM!
Missy and her littermate Mollie (since deceased) would suddenly decide that it was time to inspect the living room, at full-tilt boogie speeds. And again. And then at least once or twice more around the living room just to make sure they hadn’t missed anything.
And of course the living room couch (and more specifically, me) became a mandatory segment of the racecourse.

Curious and Missy,
Now that sounds like an interesting time on the couch. My doggis does the after bath rip around the house, until one day she misjudged and crashed head first into a pillar in the basement. I thought she killed herself, it was definitely not a good scene.
April 3, 2008 at 6:46 pm
The pup is adorable. We had a dog named Kitty. Maybe that would work…when you call your cat, both would come running. LOL
April 4, 2008 at 8:36 am
My sister used to be married to this guy. She brought a cat into the marriage. He brought several animals in over the time they were married. One of them was a conure.
If you’re going “huh?”, a conure is a type of small parrot.
My ex-bro in law couldn’t resist the temptation…he named it “Catfood”.
In turn (as cats will, when baited in such an obvious manner) the cat totally ignored the bird…
April 4, 2008 at 4:15 pm
HH~
Bear does that after his bath, too. I thought it was just him. Maybe the doggies don’t like smelling pretty & clean? LOL.
I vote for ‘Cannoli’ for your doggie, Unbee.
April 4, 2008 at 4:20 pm
Every time I see Cannoli I am wanting one so bad. My ex was friends with a business associate that used to come in to town from NY and bring in cannolis! Oh how I miss those cannolis. So I know you are calling her something…what’s her name, Unbee?
April 5, 2008 at 1:07 am
My granny had two rules for naming dogs.
1. two syllables max
2. had to end in a vowel or ‘y’
I add my own rule:
3. You can’t be embarrassed to yell it in the middle of the street when the dog takes off out the front door.
April 5, 2008 at 12:39 pm
Gr8brainfarts,
I think they are so happy that they are clean that they some how feel faster and the rip is their way of showing they are happy. She also knows after bath time she is going to get a cookie or two.
Duh - I like your rule #3 - it could prove embarrassing some of the names people pick. Its kind of like that old joke, I’m sure you all remember it.
April 5, 2008 at 2:29 pm
Odie….definately, Odie.
April 5, 2008 at 3:09 pm
My other dog, Coco-mutt (sounds like Coconut, she is a brown and white mutt dog…we go for the obvious around here…
HATES baths with a *passion*. If you tell her “It’s time to take a bath, Coco!” she walks into the bathroom with her tail between her legs and starts shaking. She looks horrified through the whole process. But yet, when it’s over, she goes tearing through the house like there’s no tomorrow. It’s bizzaro!!
April 6, 2008 at 7:07 am
Bizzaro is the name? If so~too cool! You gonna call her Bizz? I had a friend that had a dog named Dizzy and they called her Dizz.
April 6, 2008 at 2:21 pm
I like Odie too, but Twizz is still my vote.
April 8, 2008 at 10:06 pm
I love Oddie too!!!!
April 15, 2008 at 12:43 pm
So what did you name your puppy?? (Dying of suspense over here…lol)
April 17, 2008 at 10:28 am
Winnie waving to Pixie……long time no see dear!!
April 20, 2008 at 4:15 pm
How about “Baked Ziti”? That’s Italian.
BZ for short. (Get it? BZ = busy)
Okay, I’ll stop. I can hear you groaning from here….
April 21, 2008 at 4:55 pm
lol
April 22, 2008 at 9:19 am
I’ll take some baked ziti!!! I love it!
June 10, 2008 at 8:08 am
we have been waiting two months to learn the puppy’s name… please please? How’s he doin’?
July 25, 2008 at 8:02 am
name it ugly
